I’m excited to announce that big changes are coming to Chronicles. After considerable deliberation, I’ve decided to become a book blogger. I know, I know. There are already a gazillion book bloggers on the Internet. But there are also just as many people blogging about writing. This move makes sense for me. I have been an avid reader since I picked up my first Nancy Drew mystery as a child. Admittedly, I can’t read as fast or as much as Mamie, but I almost always have a book in hand. My love for reading is what drove me to become a writer. And we all know that reading great writing is one of the best ways to improve our craft. As a book blogger, my goal is to present my readers with fair and balanced reviews on quality novels from all avenues of publishing.
Features of Chronicles of an Avid Reader:
- Mamie’s Monday—Mamie will continue with her reviews
- Reviews on quality self-published novels
- Cover Reveals
- Tour stops on blog tours
- Author Interviews
Features of Chronicles of the Self-Published Author
- My findings on what works and what doesn’t work in the world of self-publishing
- My observations on the emerging world of hybrid publishing
- February Write-A-Thon
- A monthly book club for writers to discuss a selected novel
Before I launch into the world of book blogging, I plan to take a brief hiatus in order to upgrade my blog to a self-hosted site. I will continue to post on occasion during the month of May, but I will be back in full swing by June in time to offer great suggestions for summer reading. In the meantime, you can continue to post comments or e-mail me with books you would like to see reviewed.
